I talked about applications in Mac last week. Those are the apps that are installed when you install OSX Lion on your computer. This time I will talk about apps that I downloaded on Internet and in Appstore.
The applications that I will explain are:
Chrome
MPlayerX
Evernote
The Unarchiver
Open Office
I'll post more when I download more apps, but these are the things that I use right now. I don't think there has to be so many apps. Even though I download many apps, I don't use them quite often. Therefore, I will talk about apps that you would need first.
1. Chrome
Chrome is a web browser made by Google. This is the fastest web browser I've ever used. Of course Safari and Firefox is great, but I think Chrome is better. Also the good part of it is that you can search by typing in the place where you type the address. Not only these, but also there are many benefits using Chrome. I'll post about this later.
2. MPlayerX
This app helps you to play video files. As I can't play .avi, .mkv files with Quicktime Player, I use MPlayerX instead. This app is pretty good.
3. Evernote
This is app that is useful when you take notes on your Mac. There are other good applications for taking notes, but I think evernote is the best. According to App Store, it says 'synchronizes from Mac to smartphone, tablet, and the web' To me, this is the best part. Not only I can see my notes on Mac, but also on iPod. Isn't that amazing?
There's also pro version too, which means you have to pay, but I think free version is enough. I hope you enjoy!
4. The Unarchiver
How can you unzip zip files without this application? This helps you to unzip zip files. After installing this app, what you need to do is just double click zip file. The Unarchiver will automatically unzip the file.
5. Open Office
Open Office is pretty similar to Microsoft Office. You can make spread sheet, text file, and presentation file. You can do many functions that you have used in MS Office. However, you can't view or make .pptx and .docx file. :( Still, this is a nice app!
